A.) Makeup Artist 

Makeup artists are beauty practitioners who offer general makeup services or work in prosthetic design.  The duties would include enhancing facial aesthetics through makeup, creating custom looks for clients and work with actors on movie sets, applying makeup.

B.) Job Description:


To be a makeup artist, the skills you need to be one is creativity, since you need a creative imagination and a strong visual sense. Another one you need skills in is customer service, since they will be working close with people, like models, actors and photographers and client customers, they should be able to communicate with a variety of people to understand client goals and provide necessary feedback. They also need detail orientation, which where they have to work under pressure without letting the details slip. Another skill needed to be a makeup artist is management, since they have to manage their time and the time of others and they are in charge of analysing each clients desires and obtaining equipment and products necessary to complete the job.



C.) Responsibilities within the production process

- Their responsibilities within the production process are to communicate with clients to understand their needs and wants, for example they would communicate to the director to then do the actors makeup

- They determine necessary supplies and equipment needed once they have talked to their client or director depending on who their client is, their supplies would include foundation, eyeliner, liquid latex and various other makeup supplies and the equipment would be brushes and various other pieces of equipment

- They help apply and remove makeup and prosthetics

- They pay attention to other details such as costumes and design and also listen to the director/the client so they aren't doing their own thing based on the costume design unless the director is unsure and needs ideas, which is where the creativity skill comes in

- Examine makeup materials at disposal and choose the best option

- Prepare budget planning for makeup supplies and tools for the director so they can work out the costs

- Keep makeup products and tools in check

- They follow the personal hygiene standards

Why I'm suitable

I am suitable for being a makeup artist because i have had experience doing it and for my current project unit 45 i have to do monster makeup and a stab wound, so i have done something the makeup artist would do, making sure they have the right equipment for the special effect, i also know how to remove the makeup, like the makeup artist has to know for their client.



A.) Screenwriter 

Screenwriters develop the scripts, which come from their own ideas or others existing ideas or work.


B.) Job Description

The skills you need to be a screenwriter is creativity, since you might be given an idea from the director and then you have to adapt it and then if the director doesn't like it you might have to change it, so you need to be persistent. You also need to have good research skills since along with the ability to generate ideas about unfamiliar topics, also needs the ability to research those topics. You also need to have thoroughness, this way you can have a good script, if it goes with what they want and you have more knowledge on the idea.  They need the ability to communicate, so having good social skills so they can communicate ideas well to the director and show it in the script.




C.) Responsibilities

Screenwriters are responsible for describing the stories in detail, including physical environments and the moods of the characters. They might also produce a synopsis and several scenes of a story. a shooting script is prepared, this includes the camera, lighting and shot instructions. Their job is to communicate their ideas to the director so then the director can use it for the film or so the screenwriter can improve the script so it suits the film more. They might also have to plan the camera shots or film them in the cinematographer isn't there and help the director. They would be using a computer/mac/laptop and a program like Celtx to do the screenplay on.


Why I'm suitable 


I have had experience writing a script, since we did it for a project, i know how to format a script and i know how to use Celtx and to be a screenwriter you have to know how to format a script and how to use the programs for writing a script, which i know how to do. You also have to be creative to be a screenwriter and i would say i am a creative person.





A.) Cinematographer 

The cinematographer captures the script on film or video, they pay attention to lighting, angles, framing and filters to create the mood of the film. They work with the directors and film crews to create important visual effects for the film and TV. They work with the processing lab and post-production team.

B.) Job Description  

One of the skills you would need for being a cinematographer is having a good artistic eye for photography and recognising good shots. You also need to know the basics of photography and how to operate a camera, how to make the lighting work to your advantage, how to use lenses and how to film speeds and exposure work. You need to have knowledge of film and specific photography equipment and techniques. You need to be experienced with the film-making process from production through post-production, including working with a film house to prepare the final print. You also have to be able to collaborate with a movie director in developing an artistic vision for a film and then producing it.


C.) Responsibilities 

They are responsible for capturing the script on film or video and suggest suitable lighting, angles and framing, filters and techniques to the director. Working with the director and visiting locations to take test shots. They might help the screenwriter with ideas for camera shots or asking them in case they needed to know more about the script so they can bring the script to life. They must also look after the equipment, the equipment they might use are cameras/DSLR, dollies, LED lights, hand-held cameras, the Steadicam and various other pieces of equipment.


Why I'm suitable 

I am suitable because i have had experience with cameras and lights, however i'm not great at the camera, but i know the basics and you have to know the basics of a camera to be a cinematographer and you also have to be creative and like i mentioned before i would that i am creative. I have also had experience filming, making sure its in focus, i have done this for the shots i did for the unit 46, the music video unit. For the short film unit i brought a light with me and other equipment and said where the camera should go, since the cinematographer are in charge of shooting the script and i had the script with me too.
